Chicago Park District’s Deaf & Hard of Hearing Programs


Chicago Park District’s Deaf & Hard of Hearing Programs is looking for Summer Recreation Leaders to work at their
6-week summer day camp at Horner Park, 2741 W. Montrose Avenue and Gage Park, 2411 W. 55th Street.
Brief descriptions about our Summer Day Camps, we have a total of 6 weeks of SUMMER FUN! 3 different camps; each camp for 2 weeks; Camp Sign, Sports Camp and Camp Sign Adventures starting from June 25th thru August 3rd from 12noon-6pm, Monday – Friday.
·         Camp Sign - develop leisure and outdoors skills through variety of nature & environmental arts & crafts, games, swimming and visit different places of the city. (June 25th - July 6th)
  • Sports Camp - develop basic fundamental skills through variety of sports & team games; rugby, basketball, tennis, floor hockey, swimming and visit different places of the city. (July 9th – July 20th)
  • Camp Sign Adventures – develop leisure and outdoors skills through variety of nature games, kayaking, team building games, sailing, Maggie Daley’s Rock climbing, swimming and visit different places of the city. (July 23rd – Aug 3rd)
Fluent in ASL – American Sign Language and knowledge of understanding of a deaf person and culture.
Residence in the City of Chicago is required of all employees.
Proof of residence will be required at the time of employment.
