NCACES Graduate Student Leadership Positions

Dear NCACES Colleagues:

On behalf of the NCACES Executive Board, we are pleased to announce a call for applications for two leadership positions: (1) the Graduate Student Representative (GSR) position for the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) and (2) the Graduate Student Representative for North Central ACES. Please see the attached descriptions by clicking the links in the previous sentence and read each carefully to determine if you qualify. You can apply for one position or both. If applying for both, submit separate applications for each.

We are seeking graduate students who are interested in leadership and experiences within professional counselor education organizations. GSRs are burgeoning leaders who have demonstrated engagement, management skills, organizational skills, and tenacity. Because GSRs are graduate students, we recognize you are only beginning your careers and your CV is likely not filled with top leadership positions. That’s OK! The GSR role is a great opportunity to build leadership experience and to network with professional counselor educators, supervisors and other graduate students. Additionally, as GSR, you have the opportunity to create and maintain programs and initiatives, with the support of the Graduate Student Committee. We are seeking engaged, creative, and motivated graduate students for these positions!

The incoming GSR for both positions will receive mentorship from the Past-GSR, co-chair the Graduate Student Committee together, and work together to address the needs of graduate students of NCACES or graduate students nationally (depending on position). If you would like to hear what the experience has been like for NCACES GSRs, please feel free to reach out to Clark Ausloss (past NCACES GSR) Clark.Ausloos@utoledo.edu or Emily Herman (current NCACES GSR) herman.410@buckeyemail.osu.edu. For additional questions, please contact NCACES President, Jennifer Cook jennifer.cook@marquette.edu.

All application materials are due no later than January 6th, 5pm Central Time. No late applications will be accepted.

We look forward to receiving your applications!
