Webinar for Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) tests




The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson is pleased to invite Illinois educator preparation candidates to participate in a webinar on how to prepare for Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) tests.  Please forward this information to candidates enrolled in an Illinois educator preparation program.
Two sessions have been scheduled:
  • Monday, November 16, 2015, from 3:00–4:00 p.m. central time
  • Tuesday, November 17, 2015, from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 noon central time
There will be time during each session for participants to ask questions about the CEOE program.

Director, Education Counseling Center Depaul University
General Summary


Reporting to the Dean of the College of Education, the Education and Counseling Center Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the ECC. The Director is responsible for direction of counseling services, oversight of educational programming, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and management of resources. The Director will also supervise employees who handle the daily operation of the ECC and will need to know how to fulfill the responsibilities of those employees when needed.

Responsibilities & Duties


Direction of counseling services and oversight of educational programming:
  • Facilitate and orient clients to counseling services.
  • Conduct intake interviews.
  • Approve client cases, treatment plans, and review treatment plan goal progress.
  • Ensure appropriate scope of services for counseling needs of clients.
  • Manage data input process of counseling scales and assessment.
  • Provide counseling services, as needed and deemed appropriate.
  • Provide crisis and triage counseling services, as needed.
  • Ensure that education program client needs are secured and met.
  • Ensure resource allocation, availability of student support, and client placement needs are met for faculty supervisors.
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders:
  • Build and maintain relationships with faculty to understand the needs for clinical and educational services in the ECC.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to establish and maintain client referral sources.
  • Provide leadership in establishing new sources of revenue and service opportunities. (e.g., new client pools, professional development workshops)
Management of budget, revenue, and staffing resources:
  • Document and monitor services offered, COE student and faculty involvement, and professional development events.
  • Manage the budget, expenditures, and revenue.
  • Oversee maintenance of the materials library.
  • Maintain master schedule for use of the ECC and ensure appropriate space and staffing levels.
  • Supervise student employees and professional part-time staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Education & Experience


  • Doctoral or Masters degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work and at least 5 years of experience in counseling practice.
  •  At least 2 years of experience with implementing new programs.

Managerial responsibilities


  • Make decisions regarding operations of the ECC.  
  • Supervise staff and services provided by the ECC. 

Certifications & Licenses


  • Clinical Licensure (LCPC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist).

  • Knowledge of technology used in clinical education.
  • Knowledge of liability and compliance involved in clinical education.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with technology in clinical education.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team for the purposes of strategic planning.
  • Ability to use creativity, judgment, diplomacy and discretion to make decisions.
  • Ability to implement new programs.
  • Ability to improve existing programs.
  • Ability to lead a diverse group which includes faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
