Unparalleled opportunity to design and implement fundraising strategy and initiatives for this cutting edge, innovative and visionary organization established in 2011. The goal is to provide all Chicago Public Schools students, the opportunity to receive a quality arts education at every grade level. We seek a creative, collaborative, resourceful and strategic individual who can help take us to the next level.

Responsibilities:

 Primary responsibility for designing and implementing the organization’s fundraising strategy and initiatives including foundation, corporate, government, individual giving, and special events.

 Support the efforts to build awareness and credibility for the organization while building the donor base.

 Write and oversee the timely submission of grants and proposals and program updates. Assistance in this effort is planned, once additional staff brought on board.

 Hire and build a development team over a 12-24 month period.

 Work closely with a very active and collegial Executive Director while also communicating with all staff members at all levels.

Requirements, Skills & Background:

 Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, marketing, communications, nonprofit administration or related fields.

 7-10 years of experience fundraising or philanthropy, preferably in arts education. Will consider strong development experience in other sectors.

 5+ years grant writing experience.

 Experience in establishing and maintaining effective partners with diverse populations.
