Young Women and Violence: Reframing the Conversation about Girl-based Violence

On Tuesday, November 10, SCY and Demoiselle 2 Femme (D2F) are co-hosting Young Women and Violence: Reframing the Conversation about Girl-based Violence. Most discussions about girls and violence emphasize girls as victims, but this meeting will take a look at girls as the perpetrators of violence.
Opening remarks will presented by Sherida Morrison, MA, D2F's CEO/Founder, followed by a panel discussion and small group discussions focused on schools and community, family and home, peers and social media, and the justice system through the lens of girl-centered violence.
Panelists
Gail S. Day, MSW, LSW, Working on Womanhood, Youth Guidance
·         Cheresa Purnell, Demoiselle 2 Femme
·         Angella Roberts-Smith, Becoming a Women initiative, BUILD Chicago
·         K. Shakira Washington, PhD, MPA, National Crittenton Foundation and National Girls Initiative with Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention
