Education and Counseling Center Student Worker Position

Summary

Reporting to the Director of the Education and Counseling Center, this Student Worker position supports the counseling services and the daily activities of the Education and Counseling Center (ECC). This position is responsible for supporting Graduate Assistants, Faculty, and Director in preparation for client services and classes. This is a grant-funded 1-year position during the 2014-15 Academic Year.

Principal Duties, Responsibilities and Other Job Related Information
  • Serve as a point of contact for initial inquiries about the Education and Counseling Center.
  • Serve as a point of contact for counseling services for families, clients, and referral sources.
  • Provide resources, support, and information to client, staff, and faculty regarding Education and Counseling Center services.
  • Support administration of the ECC, including the scheduling, data collection, and assessment related to counseling services.
  • Provide technology assistance in preparing for Education and Counseling Center Education clinical operations on a daily basis

Position Requirements (Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required)
  • Knowledge of Spanish language preferred (Oral and Written)
  • Current Masters student enrolled in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot issues with technology
  • Ability to work with a diverse team of staff, faculty, students
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Position Qualifications (Minimum level of education and/or experience needed to be
successful in the position)

Hour requirements/schedule: The ideal student will have experience in customer service,
technology knowledge (Mac/PC, Microsoft word, Prezi, Google docs/calendar), clear
communication skills, and interest in working in educational or public service fields.
Ability to work four (4) five hour shifts per week. Shift times are either 10 – 3pm or 3 –
8pm.

20-hour/week position beginning September 2, 2014.
