Job Title: Assistant Manager / Catering Manager

Hours: Full Time ***(see below)
Date of Hire: ASAP

Benefits: 2 week vacation 1st year, sick pay and holidays as referenced in employee manual/benefits.

Overview of Position: Responsible for day-to-day operations of café. Responsible for execution of catering orders from
inquiry to delivery & follow-up. Train and coach all students in front-of-the-house skills.
Support General Manager, Chef and Case Worker in order to provide quality food, service
student training and development.

Responsibilities:
• Assistant Manager
o Assist the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of café
o Ensure continuous upkeep and improvement in quality of service and operational
effectiveness
o Provide superior service to all guests by ensuring timely delivery of accurate food
and drinks
o Maintain high level of professionalism and leadership
o Assist in ordering all front-of-house food and paper items.
o Train volunteers to provide needed support in café management
o Become an expert espresso drink trainer
o Develop relationships with guests to build customer base and sales
o Develop and maintain positive relationship with service providers
o Maintain cleanliness, above and beyond requirements of Board of Health
o Pass Health Certification within three months of start date
o Assist in growing Curt’s Café to its full potential in communities outside and inside
Evanston
o Support Curt’s mission and objectives
o Other duties as assigned
• Catering Specific
o Execute catering orders from inquiry to delivery to post-delivery follow-up.
o Ensure catering orders are staffed for delivery and off & onsite events.
• Student Support & Training Specific
o Train students on all stations utilizing Tell/Show/Do/Review
o Ensure students work daily training positions, complete curriculum books, attend life
skill classes and Experiential Trips
Job Skills & Requirements:
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Experience or desire to work in a team setting
• Highly organized with good communication skills
• Exhibit strong leadership qualities
• Must have experience or willing to learn about working in a Trauma-informed environment
• Ability to connect with people of all racial backgrounds
• Must have ability and willingness to work Saturdays and occasional evenings

Review: 3 and 6 months first year then yearly
Accountability: Assistant Manager/Catering Manager is accountable to General Manager

***This position may be split in to two part-time jobs
