Want to make a difference?  Gain valuable direct experience?  Volunteer at the National Runaway Safeline!  The National Runaway Safeline (NRS) serves as the federally-designed national communication system for runaway and homeless youth. Through our crisis hotline ( 1-800-RUNAWAY) and online services (1800runaway.org) NRS provides crisis intervention, conflict mediation, information and referrals to youth and families nationwide.

Our requirements for volunteering: successfully complete our 40-hour crisis intervention training program. Be able to abide by the tenants of NRS philosophy (confidential, non-judgmental, non-directive, non-sectarian, honest and empowering). Must be able to demonstrate empathy, self-regulation and good social skills.
