College and Career Readiness Coach will work with the counseling department to assist students in planning their academic futures. In addition to assisting the counseling department, the coach will plan visits made my college representatives to the school, research and assist students in filing scholarships and applying to colleges. The CCR Coach will also assist the testing coordinator in the testing center.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist staff in events related to promoting college and other post secondary opportunities
Organize visits for college representatives and/ students visits to prospective colleges
Develop a system for providing students information about college and scholarships
Develop a system for tracking and following up with students
Communicate with parents
Find opportunities for internships and externships for students who qualify
Assist students through the application process/and following up with their prospective college
Assist the test coordinator in the testing center
The College and Career Readiness position is a non-teaching position. The ideal candidate for this position should preferably have a background counseling, social work and/or teaching. Alcott College Prep High School West Campus was created in 2010 in order to extend the learning opportunities and community of our Elementary School campus and currently serves 300 students in grades nine through twelve. The 2012 -2013 school marked the start of a new vision for Alcott and we are looking for Career and College Readiness Coach who is committed to helping us realize that mission; need strong, passionate, and collaborative educators to develop a college prep high school that prepares every student to be informed, active, and engaged citizens.

|Requirements:||2 years of college completed and/or working toward a degree in counseling, social work and/or urban studies. |
Preferred experienced working with Chicago youth and/ or experience working in an urban environment
Skills and Disposition (preferred):
Effective writing and oral communication skills
Research skills and knowledge of related databases and resources
Familiarity with FAFSA process / and applying for scholarships
Competent in Microsoft Word, Google Drive & other supportive technologies
Organizational skills- ability to develop, maintain and sustain systems of collections and redistribution
Collaboration skills- maintain good rapport with staff, students and parents
Time management skills- ability to meet deadlines
Soft skills preferred
Nurturing and patient with with students of all levels and ability ranges
Friendly disposition- smiles often.
