The Director of the Humanities Professional Resources Center will lead all aspects of the Humanities Professional Resources Center, including developing internship and career programs for humanities students, cultivating employer and corporate relationships, and engaging alumni.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and present career advising programs and workshops for humanities students.
  • Advise humanities students on campus opportunities that complement their major.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with employers and corporate partners.
  • Develop and present workshops to prepare humanities students for career fairs.
  • Develop programs and services that engage alumni and enhance professional opportunities for humanities students.
  • Work with campus and external stakeholders to identify internship opportunities for students.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other college and campus partners, such as the LAS Director of Career Development, the Career Center, and the LAS Advancement Office to advance the support for humanities students.
  • Supervise employees within the center.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Master’s Degree
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in a secondary or higher education environment.
  • Successful career and/or academic advising experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong proficiency in all forms of communication and working effectively both independently and in collaborative groups.
  • Proven ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills that reflect ability to use independent judgment and decision making to proactively identify issues and propose and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and ability to articulate the value of diversity and inclusivity.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree in a Humanities discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Communication, or related fields
  • Experience developing career programs, workshops, and internship opportunities.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in building/maintaining collaborative relationships.

SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
This is a full-time position. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
