ACAC Fall Newsletter Article Submission

The Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling (ACAC) is accepting content for our Fall Newsletter. Please consider this opportunity - graduate students are encouraged to submit and you do not have to be a member of ACAC. The focus of this Fall Edition is on the use of telehealth in our work due to the impact of COVID-19 during 2020 – e.g. How has your practice changed? How have you adapted your developmental approaches for working with child and adolescent clients? How has your work/advocacy as a school counselor changed as a result of online schooling?

Articles should be from 1-3 pages in length, in Word/APA format, grounded in peer-reviewed research/content, and specifically related to working with children and adolescents. We are looking for content specific to school counseling and community counseling for our school and community corner sections!

The deadline for submission is
October 15th with an expected distribution date of November 5th. Email submissions to: Theresa Kascsak, Newsletter Editor, at theresa.kascsak@capella.edu.

The world of work is changing at an ever-increasing pace. Our clients will need to prepare for multiple career decision-making “forks in the road” over their lifetimes. These decision-making moments will sometimes happen at the most inopportune times. Initially, ICDA created the Five Steps of Proactive Career Development to help address our purpose to promote career development to all people over the lifespan in the state of Illinois. We now offer these steps as a framework for our clients to follow in their efforts to be prepared to face those forks, whenever they may present themselves.
