Counseling Student Volunteers Needed!

IMPACT is a day in which high school youth participants are led through a series of team building activities that explore how to celebrate uniqueness and draw out a deeper sense of self-worth and self-awareness. IMPACT and Phoenix Military Academy are working together on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 8:45am- 3:30pm to bring IMPACT to high school youth. We need YOU to volunteer with us!

IMPACT aims to inspire our youth to make positive changes in their own school culture by first reevaluating the power of their own voice. IMPACT will be focusing on issues such as alcohol and drugs, violence, oppression, suicide, and bullying. Young people will be challenged to take a deeper look at what role they play in creating a safe environment for them to learn in. Our overall goal is to inspire these young catalysts to make shifts in their habits so that they may bring their new found awareness back to their school to impact their peers and their community. As a valued community member you can help us to empower our youth.

We welcome adult participants of all ages and of all occupations who can be positive role models. As a volunteer you will be assisting with set up, fully participating in the activities, and being a small group leader. You are encouraged to participate in IMPACT to the fullest of your capabilities. Staff will be giving prompts throughout the day to smoothly transition from one activity to the next so no preparation or experience is necessary. You must be able to stay on site for the duration of the event. Snacks and lunch are provided.

For more information please check out our website www.getimpact.org and be sure to check out our 2 min video!

To confirm yourself as a volunteer for IMPACT, email Monica Juarez at monica@getimpact.org or call 773.988.1975. We want to secure all adult participants as soon as possible. If you leave a message please make sure to give your email, phone number, and how you heard about IMPACT.

Please consider joining us!

Sincerely,

IMPACT and Phoenix Staff!

Expanding Your Horizons

Are you interested in helping inspire and empower middle school girls to pursue science and math careers? We could use your help! We are looking for volunteers to help out at the sixth Expanding Your Horizons - Chicago conference on Saturday, March 24th at the University of Chicago. EYH Chicago is a one-day conference where 300 middle school girls participate in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math workshops. It is an exciting event for both the girls and volunteers, and we hope you will help us make this year’s conference a success! More information about the conference can be found on our website at https://eyhchicago.com/

We will need volunteers from approximately 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.(not all volunteer shifts will last all day).  Example positions include helping with registration, setting up and assisting workshop leaders, ushering participants (young girls) between locations, distributing lunch, and cleaning up facilities.  There will be breakfast, lunch, and a reception with food and refreshments for volunteers at the end of the day.

Volunteers will be expected to attend a mandatory orientation session a couple weeks before the conference at the University of Chicago.  The dates for training are Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. or Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 06:30 p.m.  We are in need of 120 volunteers to help the conference run smoothly. Are you interested? Do you know somebody who might be interested?

Thank you!
