The Black Mental Health Symposium Conference

The Black Mental Health Symposium is an annual conference aimed to equip mental health practitioners, supervisors, and educators with culturally-responsive interventions that improve mental wellness in Black communities. It will be held on September 10-11, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel & Conference Center in Atlanta GA. The call for proposals is open until 3/24. All proposals welcome, especially submissions regarding Black couples and family counseling, parenting, LGBTQ, addictions, grief, trauma, community violence, ethics, research and evidence-based practices, post-slavery syndrome, transgenerational trauma recovery, and culturally-responsive treatment approaches. COE Ice Cream Social

Feeling the February doldrums?  Come stop in the ASC to mingle with students, and enjoy ice cream, hot chocolate, coffee or strawberry shortcake this Thursday between 3pm and 5pm!  All COE students, faculty and staff are welcome. Counseling Scholarship Opportunity


The Counseling Student Endowed Award in honor of Rev. Patrick J. McDevitt, C.M. provides recognition and financial assistance to Counseling students in good academic standing and with financial need. The College of Education is accepting applica-tions through March 22, 2020 for scholarships to be awarded for the 2019-2020 academic year. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 
 Counseling student enrolled in the College of Education 
 Demonstrates good academic standing 
 Demonstrates financial need

Maine Township’s MaineStay Youth & Family Services in Park Ridge is seeking to hire a full-time Family Therapist. This position requires a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or a related field; experience working with youth and families; excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills; and the ability to work day and evening hours. Bilingual candidates preferred. A clinical level license (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) is preferred; AMFT, LPC, LSW license will be considered. Excellent benefits.
