Technology Interest Network for School Counselors: Dr. Mason Needs Help!

Dr. Mason has recently been name as the facilitator of the Technology Interest Network for the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). She is looking for one or two students who have ASCA membership and an interest in technology to help her with this task on a weekly basis. Responsibilities will be assigned and supervised by Dr. Mason and include those such as:
  1. Encourage discussion on the SCENE and other ASCA social media by posting ideas and resources about the topic
  2. Complete a keyword search on the SCENE once a week and respond to questions related to the topic
  3. Suggest resources to ASCA staff for the ASCA online resource center appropriate for the topic
  4. Write a short blog entry quarterly for the ASCA SCENE related to the topic

Young Women and Violence: Reframing the Conversation about Girl-based Violence

On Tuesday, November 10, SCY and Demoiselle 2 Femme (D2F) are co-hosting Young Women and Violence: Reframing the Conversation about Girl-based Violence. Most discussions about girls and violence emphasize girls as victims, but this meeting will take a look at girls as the perpetrators of violence.
Opening remarks will presented by Sherida Morrison, MA, D2F's CEO/Founder, followed by a panel discussion and small group discussions focused on schools and community, family and home, peers and social media, and the justice system through the lens of girl-centered violence.

Job Summary The Dual Credit/College Readiness Program Coordinator* is responsible for career and technical education (CTE) dual credit at the College of Lake County (CLC). The Program Coordinator will support CTE models of dual credit and dual enrollment and will be the main point of contact for high schools, faculty, students, and parents. This position will align dual credit and dual enrollment programs with state legislation and accreditation guidelines; handle logistical aspects of dual credit and dual enrollment; maintain correspondence and communication records with schools, departments, and students; and, maintain records necessary for evaluation of the programs.
This position will be partially funded by the ICCB Perkins Grant. As such, hiring is dependent on approval of the FY16 Perkins Plan by the ICCB which is anticipated during July.
Required Qualification 1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Excellent time management and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
5. Experience in secondary or higher education.
6. Ability to work autonomously.
