Paid Summer Internship Opportunity

Paid summer opportunity, with the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation, with graduate students and 3rd & 4th year undergraduates. This is a very healthy organization with a positive professional workplace culture; an internship here is likely to be well structured as a valuable educational mentorship in research, program evaluation, and the funding of educational programming, which would also suit students who aspire towards nonprofit entrepreneurship in education or organizational leadership. The deadline is April 15, but we would encourage interested students to apply as early as is manageable.

Summary: The Lloyd A. Fry Foundation seeks an intern to provide support to the education and arts learning program areas. The Intern will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative, organizational, and research support, including data management and special project support.

The Foundation’s core working hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The hours for this position must be within the core working hours and must be consistent week to week, but the exact start time and end time are flexible. We anticipate the position will involve 25-30 hours per week, and these hours can be scheduled over three, four or five days.

Intern Responsibilities:

• Research CPS schools that foundation funding targets, find low-income student data and racial demographic information for these schools. Determine methods of effectively presenting your research (bar graphs/pie charts).
• Write case studies on grantee organizations and Fry Foundation funded programs.

• Assist with project coordination of the annual report
• Assist with event planning and coordination of the June retreat
• Work independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring and ongoing projects
• Answer and/or filter telephone calls and communications, and respond as instructed
• Perform other duties as assigned           

Knowledge Required

• Undergraduate BA/BS  Senior/Junior or a Master’s degree student     
• Clerical experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Required Abilities

• Ability to work well with all styles and personalities
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to learn related computer programs
