Assistant
Director, External Relations – Career Advancement
The University of Chicago is
accepting applications for an Assistant Director position in the Office of
Career Advancement. The Assistant Director will play a key role in ensuring the
success of the Kimpton Fellows Program, which places graduating seniors in
one-year, employer-funded fellowships. The Assistant Director will also
facilitate and develop international partnerships and programming.
Job Summary
·
Execute the Kimpton Fellows
Program, which places
recent graduates of the College
in one-year, employer-funded fellowships in cities such as Chicago, New
York City, and Washington, D.C. Placements include organizations from a variety
of industries, including non-profit, government, healthcare, and STEM. The
Fellows also attend seminars for professional development throughout their
fellowship year

Maintain existing
employer relationships and creating new partnerships with organizations in key cities.

Assist in
organizing international alumni events on-campus, such as lunch and learn
workshops for students.
·
Assist in
developing resources for international students and students who are
participating in programs abroad, such as city guides and international visa
guideline documents.
·
Assist with
advising students on submitting their international travel petitions to the
Study Abroad Risk and Security Assessment Committee (SARSAC) for approval to
study or work in higher-risk international locations. Track student petitions
to ensure that students are following the process and have had their petitions approved before traveling to the international location in question.

Senior Assistant Director,
Employer Relations and Development – Career Advancement

Relations and Development (ERD) team establishes and enhances employer
relationships across industries and in multiple geographic locations to connect
talented UChicago students
with leading organizations for job outcomes
and experiential education opportunities.

The Senior
Assistant Director role includes developing relationships with corporate employers in the finance,
investment banking, corporate and consulting industries, contributing to the
growth of full-time outcomes and the University’s premiere Jeff Metcalf
Internship Program that places students into 2,500+ paid substantive
opportunities in the academic year.

Cultivation of
employer partnerships includes active engagement with alumni, parents, and
friends of the University to promote new professional opportunities in target
regions and industries.
·
The ERD team
provides superior customer service to all employer partners recruiting UChicago students, including
the management of a robust on-campus recruiting program during peak hiring seasons.
·
The Senior
Assistant Director will liaise closely with the University’s Business Programs,
comprising the Trott Business Program, Financial Markets, and Business Career
Services as well as other pre-professional and general advising teams in the
office to promote opportunities, inform on recruiting trends, and offer insight
into employer demand for skills and talent.
