NOMINATIONS FOR EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARDS
TERM FACULTY and ADJUNCT FACULTY
COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
Purpose
Teaching is at the core of what faculty members do at DePaul University. In support of the University’s affirmation of the teaching mission, the College of Education presents annual Excellence in Teaching Awards for Term Faculty and Adjunct Faculty. These awards recognize outstanding and significant achievement in teaching and commitment to the teaching mission.
Eligibility
All College of Education term and adjunct faculty members who have taught at least 6 courses are eligible for consideration. Consideration will be based on the most recent 6 courses taught.
Who May Nominate
Students, faculty, and staff members in the College of Education.
Timeline
Nominations should be submitted by Friday, May 31 for consideration for the award. Nominations received after May 31 will be considered for the following academic year.
When You May Nominate
Nominations will be accepted at any time during the year. Nominations received after the deadline will be considered for the following academic year.
Procedure
Nominations should be typed in letter form (and signed and dated) detailing reasons why a particular faculty member should be considered for the Excellence in Teaching Award. The nomination letter should not exceed 2 pages.
Nominations should be sent to the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College of Education, Jaelyn Crockett (j.crockett@depaul.edu). The nominations will then be made available to the Faculty Development Committee.
Faculty, staff, and students may submit nomination letters for more than one faculty member; however, each nomination should be presented in a separate letter.
A letter of support will be solicited by the Dean’s Office for each nominee from his/her department chair (or associate chair when appropriate).
