Youth Support Specialist
$50,000 - $52,000 a year
Qualifications: Requires a Master's degree in social work, counseling or relevant field from a recognized college or university supplemented by one year of professional social work experience working with trauma-exposed populations. The possession of a LCSW/LCPC registered to the state of Illinois is required.
Description: Youth Support Specialists will be primarily responsible for immediate triage response to families with identified youth directly exposed to trauma after violent loss. The YSS will be expected to directly assess and implement therapeutic responses to the youth assigned to the worker’s case load. Within the role as a YSS, the worker will be expected to provide quality intensive supportive counseling services and comprehensive referrals for a caseload estimated at about 30-45 victims per quarter. Additional trainings will be provided and supported by supervision.
