Job Posting: Administrative Assistant to the Associate Director




General Summary:
The Administrative Assistant provides assistance to the Associate Director of the Steans Center and to the Center as a whole, which acts as a bridge between faculty and community partners in educating over 3,800 students per year in the pursuit of social justice. The Administrative Assistant represents the Center and the University to faculty, staff, community partners, and students through coordinating special events, outreach, and marketing; and through general administrative support.

Principle Duties, Responsibilities and Other Job Related Information:
        Provides general administrative and financial processes support to the Director and the Center.
        Coordinates meetings, faculty seminars, and the annual Service Speaks conference.
        Collaborates with the Academic Service Learning team on Community-based Service Learning (CbSL) and Scholarship/Internship Programs.
        Develops and produces promotional materials.
        Coordinates marketing efforts, i.e. maintains the resource calendar, updates social media outlets and website.
        Writes student, faculty, and community partner profiles or activity descriptions to share the story of community engagement at the Steans Center.
        Serves as a Service Learning Coordinator and general support for Inside-Out Incarceration Curriculum Program.
        Coordinates scholarship application processes.

Position Requirements (minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required):
·         Strong administrative, organizational, and writing skills.
·         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
·         Experience working with relevant social media outlets. Graphic design skills a plus.
·         First-year graduate student (strongly preferred).

Hour Requirements/Schedule/Other:
To be arranged; 20 hours/week.
