– National Louis University’s Counseling Association invites you, your fellow
professors and the students enrolled in your counseling program to attend our 2nd
Annual CARE Fair – (Counseling And Resource Expo). Our free event will be held
on Saturday, October 8, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Wheeling campus, 1000
Capitol Drive, Wheeling, IL, 60090.
During
the CARE Fair, there will be the opportunity to network with professionals in
the counseling field to get information about possible internships, employment
and ways to get involved and make a difference. There are also four
professional development sessions throughout the event and free CEUs are
included. Ashley Glover, Public Health Advocate at Zacharias Sexual Abuse
Center, will lead a “Supporting Adult Survivors of Sexual Abuse” session. Steve
Ruohomaki, L.C.S.W., Viet Nam era Army veteran, will lead the “Managing the
Memories” session. Halley Jacobs, NLUCA President, will lead a “DBT
(Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Core Mindfulness Skills” session. Traci
Flowers, M.A., M.Ed., College Counselor at Loyola Academy, and IACAC Delegate
Director-Secondary, from IACAC will lead a “Professional Development
Opportunities in College Counseling” session. There is additional information
about each session on the attached flyer.

organizations will be represented at the CARE Fair: Amita Health,
Chicago Behavioral Hospital, Extra Mile Veteran Care, IACAC (Illinois
Association for College Admission Counseling), ICA (Illinois Counseling
Association), ICDA (Illinois Career Development Association), MaineStay, NAMI
(National Alliance on Mental Illness), National Louis University's Inclusive U,
National Runaway Safeline, Nicasa, Skylight Counseling Center, and Zacharias
Sexual Abuse Center.
