Dear
College Counseling students,
We
hope this email finds you healthy and well. The Office of New Student and
Family Engagement (NSFE) has continued to recruit Chicago Quarter Staff Professionals for Fall 2020, and
we think many of you would be a great fit for this role! We’ve scheduled two
Zoom info sessions for later this month if you’d like to learn more about this
job opportunity.
Staff
professionals support first year students as they transition to college and
work in collaboration with an assigned student mentor. This position is a
great way to build a relationship
with first-year students,
encourage student success in the classroom, and share your own knowledge and
experiences with first years.
The
Staff Professional position is a critical role within a Chicago Quarter
teaching team. Alongside a faculty member, the Staff Professional and
student mentor work together to guide new students as they transition to
DePaul. We know these times are quite uncertain which makes it difficult
to commit so far in advance. However, we also know that our newest
students will need the best support as we start the fall quarter and we know
that many of you are well-prepared to provide support in this role.
Attached is the job description. For more information, we ask that folks attend one of our
virtual info sessions (see details below). Please consider forwarding
this to any staff member or graduate student who might be interested in
learning more about this role. We appreciate your help in getting the
word out.
