Dear Prospective Research Participant,
My name is Julie Quigley and I am a doctoral
student from the University of the Cumberlands, and I am conducting a research
study as part of my doctoral degree requirements. I have received IRB approval
from UC's institutional review board. You are invited to
participate in my study is you are currently attending a graduate counseling
program.
My study is entitled, Do Something
Different as an Intervention for Perceived Stress Reduction in Graduate
Counseling Students.
The purpose of this study is to
measure the results of a private, personalized mobile health intervention,
specifically tailored to you as you cope with the natural stresses of being a
graduate student.
If you are interested in
participating in this study, please click on this: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BFMKKQC
If you agree to participate, you will be asked
to fill out a 15-minute pretest survey, participate in a 3-week program designed to exercise my coping skills,
and fill out a 15-minute posttest survey.
This involves an online diagnostic by answering
questions about existing habits and behaviors; these data are used to
generate SMS prompts designed to manage stress and well-being
in the Do Something Different intervention. The online diagnostic is augmented
with animations and videos that introduce DSD background and foundational
theory.
All information will remain entirely anonymous.
